Dancing with my Sister

My sister, otherwise known as "The Amazing Bonnie" married Mr. Right in July on board a boat on the Potomic. I was a bridesmaid and here we are having our first dance. I cut in on my Uncle Bernie much to both of their surprises. "You're supposed to dance with Bernie!" said the Amazing Bonnie. I did that next.

Lindy in the Park

My favorite place to go dancing is Lindy in the Park (www.lindyinthepark.com)on Sundays. When we first started this remarkable event 10 years ago, we took over the bandshell when it was not in use by someone who actually paid for the priviledge, plugged in our speakers and danced about once a month. As it increased in popularity we increased it to every other week and finally every week. When the construction began and the bandshell was closed, we moved to FJK drive right behind the De Young museum. Now, thanks to Seattle's contribution of Hep Jen to our comunity, we have a free half hour dance lesson every Sunday which has done much to bring new people to the lindy comunity. This weekend we celebrate our tenth anniversary with a potluck barbeque and extra long hours.

Welcome to my blog! For a fairly computer illiterate person, this should prove to be an interesting adventure. My kittens, Fred and Ginger, are now legally of age although they don't know it yet. They are banned to the bedroom on the rare occasion that I have students who object to their presense, but by and large they are a big hit. Having grown up in a dance studio, they're very interested in people and their belongings, especially shoes. Some people have been know to sign up for another series just to maintain their cat addiction. For those who are interested, I shall attempt to up load a photo. Stay tuned!
